Transitioning an in-person awards show with a dozen categories and nearly a hundred nominees to a virtual event requires careful planning.
The GeekWire Awards event was crafted around a Zoom experience for nominees and live YouTube broadcast for the audience. This platform bifurcation allowed us to build a best-of-both-worlds solution where nominees and participants didn't need to shuttle between different platforms and could watch the entire live show while staying in a virtual green room when their category was called.
Production partner Centerstage Industries provided lighting, stage, and studio elements, as well as overall production management.
