Punch Drunk was brought on board to engineer a video projection solution that would “play nice” with the Arri Alexa camera so all the frame rates of video playback would work with the frame rates of the Alexa.
Overview
For this Clarisonic commercial, director Jorge Valdés-Iga and director of photography Philipp Friesenbichler had a concept to project video imagery of pollution and smokestacks onto the skin and faces of models.
Punch Drunk was enlisted to develop a video projection solution compatible with the Arri Alexa camera, ensuring seamless synchronization between the video playback and the Alexa's frame rates.
We produced a variety of footage transcodes in every frame rate imaginable, and worked with the team for the duration of the shoot to get the projection looking perfect for every take.
