Punch Drunk produced show-specific branded motion graphics for Red Bull Air Race that we mixed into a live VJ mix for this star-studded rooftop party.
Overview
During their 2009 Air Race in San Diego, Red Bull hosted a number of high-profile parties. Punch Drunk was brought to San Diego for the Kim Kardashian / Reggie Bush party on the rooftop of the Hard Rock Hotel. We provided live VJ-mixed visuals for the event, and we also pioneered live camera-to-screen technology using the then-new EyeFi card, which shot photos of guests entering the party that were almost instantaneously incorporated into the VJ mix.
In addition to bringing the instant photo-to-live-screen approach to the event, we used multiple live cameras throughout the event to enhance the VJ mix. Together with the live elements, we produced a variety of show-specific branded motion graphics for Red Bull Air Race that were mixed into the video stream throughout the night.
